The New Victory Points Scale — Brutality Unleashed!
7 months ago – Wed, Sep 03, 2025 at 06:56:42 AM

In the latest version of the rulebook, we’ve introduced a brand-new Victory Points scale — a mechanic designed to make gang battles tense, brutal, and utterly unpredictable.

Here’s how it works:

  • Each player has their own Victory Points marker on the scale.
  • Turns 1–5: At the end of a turn, if only one player has crossed that turn’s Victory Point threshold, they win the game instantly.
  • Turn 6: Victory goes to the first player to reach the final space on the scale. If no one reaches it, the player with the highest Victory Points takes the crown.

How to score points:

  • Destroying an enemy Emanation or Beast.
  • Controlling the Dominion tile at the end of the turn.

This system turns every round into a high-stakes showdown where the balance of power can flip in a heartbeat. The new scale rewards ruthless tactics, precise timing, and just the right amount of audacity.

No one is safe. No lead is secure. In this jungle, you either dominate… or get crushed.

Nakar, the Clockwork Strategist
7 months ago – Wed, Aug 27, 2025 at 11:54:24 AM

Nakar didn’t require any structural adjustments, but since we had the file open, we took the opportunity to enhance its aesthetic details.

Go take a look to the model!

Let’s talk about Nassyum.
8 months ago – Tue, Aug 19, 2025 at 05:38:56 AM

Among all the models, Nassyum required the most extensive structural reinforcement. From the delicate throat tendrils to the suspended front leg and tail, several parts needed support to ensure durability.

A short clip of this rework is here

We enlarged the diameter of the hanging protrusions and connected them more solidly to the throat fur, reducing leverage points. A small rock was added under the left front hoof to stabilize the pose, and the sculpt received overall refinement and added detail.

And here is the model.

Improvements on Kurgalan leader of the woods
8 months ago – Tue, Aug 12, 2025 at 07:01:03 AM

Hey again, it's Marco here.
Before we go on, let me give you a quick historical side note about myself.

I've been into skirmish tabletop games for as long as I can remember. I started with the second edition of Confrontation, and over the years I’ve played a ton of miniature games like Mordheim, Necromunda, Warmachine, Guild Ball, Malifaux, Infinity, Blood Bowl, Godslayer, and even collected various Warhammer lines (though I’ll be honest—I never really enjoyed the game itself).

I’ve always loved working with miniatures, so much so that I eventually started to design and produce them myself.

So when I first got my hands on the SoA miniatures, I immediately noticed a few production issues: overly thin parts, fragile proportions, and details that were too flat or poorly distributed.
To make them production-ready and durable, we decided to rework parts of the original sculpts, improving both the technical build and the aesthetic details

Enjoy the details—we’ve put a lot of love into them!

Here’s a side-by-side of how they were and how they look now. (new on the left, old on the right)

The new board and how to play on it.
8 months ago – Tue, Jul 29, 2025 at 01:17:23 AM

Hello, Marco's here.
This week, I want to walk you through the new board and show you the tactical and gameplay improvements we’ve been working on.
As you may recall, each faction originally had its own dedicated board.
While thematic, this setup often led to predictable opening moves, making each match feel somewhat scripted. For example, when playing the Fire faction on the Fire board, players would quickly settle into the same opening strategy.
To prevent the game from becoming repetitive and less engaging, we’ve developed a new solution, which we’re excited to introduce today.

This scheme is the starting layout for Frontal Clash, the recommended introductory one-on-one scenario.
The board is divided into functional zones, each with a specific role during the setup phase, as described in the mission.

Zone Key:

🟧 Orange Hexes – Leader Start
These indicate the starting position of the Leader. In this configuration, only one space is available, so no placement choice is allowed.
🟨 Yellow Hexes – Soulkin Start
These hexes are used for Soulkin deployment. There are 5 available spaces, but only 3 Soulkin may be deployed alongside the Leader.
This gives players some flexibility in choosing the starting positions.
🟦 Blue Hexes – Emanation Zones
These are the designated areas for placing Emanations, as defined by the mission setup.
🟪 Purple Hex – Anomaly (Domination)
The hex represents a strategic territorial supremacy zone, known as Domination.
At the end of each turn, the team that controls this hex will gain victory points.
🟩 Green Hexes – Temen Token Zones (Elemental Energies)
These zones introduce one of the core innovations of the game.
At the start of the match, one hidden Temen Token is placed on each green hex, representing one of the six elemental energies of Ankiril.
During the game, Soulkin can explore these areas to reveal the hidden energy and choose whether to acquire it.
Collected energies can be used to activate special Soulkin abilities.

This second scenario is called “Run to the Hills”, and as you can see, the arrangement of functional zones is different.

Each mission will include its own specific layout in the rulebook, allowing for varied gameplay experiences.
This system also encourages you to explore which faction suits you best, depending on the scenario you choose to play.

See you next week!
